Freshman Year highlights
- Freshmen Classroom Presentations (Fall)
- Counselors connect with all freshmen through classroom presentations. General high school information is reviewed and includes how to keep on track for graduation and college eligibility, accessing campus resources, and key information about NHS.
- Fall Conferences
- Each freshman and their parent/guardian will meet with their advisor for a general check-in during Fall Conference Week.
- Freshman Parent Night (Spring)
- Review of the information covered in the freshman class presentations: graduation and college eligibility, resources, and planning for sophomore year courses.
- Strategically planned to take place before students choose their courses for sophomore year.
- Spring Conferences
- The spring conference with the student's advisor will focus on finalizing course selection for sophomore year.
- Counselor Guidance and Support
- Throughout the year, counselors are available to help students with any academic, personal/social, or career/college-related questions and concerns.
- Counselors monitor student progress throughout the year and check-in with students who are struggling or need additional support.
