Northwood High School Athletics Boosters
NHS offers 23 varsity sports for boys and girls. On average, about 40% of our student body participates in Athletics where they learn important life skills such as teamwork, dedication, perseverance, and sportsmanship. Our coaches are dedicated to developing our student-athletes both on and off the field as good citizens at school and in the community. The hours spent training and competing offer our students the chance not only to develop personally but also to compete as a member of the school community. While the Irvine Unified School District continues to work hard to maintain these programs, the Northwood High School Athletics Boosters is integral in allowing us to continue to support our team with coaches, uniforms, equipment, athletics letters, and certificates as well as assisting with major capital improvements.
The NHS Athletics Boosters will be hosting numerous fundraising events throughout the school year. Our largest event will be the annual Timberwolf 5K, sponsored by a local realtor, Mike Dunn. We hope you will come out and support our Athletics program by running, walking or volunteering on that crisp Saturday morning. You have an even greater opportunity to support the NHS Athletics Boosters by donating your time, your money or both to all of our activities, including the monthly Booster meetings! Timberwolf Instrumental Music Boosters (TIMB)
Our instrumental music program includes an unprecedented 4 orchestras, 4 concert bands, 3 jazz bands, a marching band and a full orchestra including the winds. The TIMB has set a goal to raise nearly $100,000 for Instrumental Music costs that are not covered by IUSD’s budget. These costs include sheet music, instrument repairs and supplies, and instrument coaches and clinics. Northwood Choral Music Boosters
Our choral music program includes 6 classroom choruses and three groups which meet outside the school day (2 a-cappella groups, and the Glee Club). Our goal is to raise $60,000 to support our students in ways that are not covered by IUSD’s budget. These costs include sheet music, master class instruction, festivals, busing, clinics, special lighting, props, guest soloists, and our world-class accompanist.
