TRANSCRIPTS

Transcripts are typically considered official if they are sent electronically from NHS staff or via Parchment. Hard copy transcripts that are signed and sealed are also often acceptable.

For an official transcript for a college application, summer program, scholarship program, or any other institution:

  • Order an official transcript through Parchment to have the transcript sent directly to the institution/program either electronically or hard copy through regular mail.
  • Order a hard copy through the NHS webstore to be picked up from the NHS registrar in the front office.
  • Contact your counselor if additional documentation is needed or if the program/institution requires that the transcript be uploaded to a portal or sent by the counselor or other school representative directly.

Seniors should consult with their counselor for the best option before sending transcripts to colleges, universities, and other programs/organizations. As a reminder, UC/CSU campuses do not typically require or accept transcripts prior to admission.

A transcript is generally considered to be unofficial if it is sent or uploaded to a portal by the student or if an official hard copy transcript has been opened by someone other than the program/institution.

An unofficial transcript can be downloaded by the student/parent via Aeries (Parent Portal) at any time. A student's counselor can also provide families with an electronic or hard copy transcript as needed.

NHS alumni should order official and unofficial transcripts via Parchment

The first time you order a transcript via Parchment, you will need to create a "New Learner Account." If you need assistance, refer to the Parchment Guide to High School Transcripts

Parchment charges a $4.40 fee to use this service. Users can choose to have their transcript sent directly to the institution/program electronically or as a hard copy through the mail. Please be prepared to provide the email address or mailing address to which the transcript should be sent. Note that if you choose to have a hard copy transcript mailed to your home, it will no longer be considered official if it is opened.
