NHS Support for FRMP Participants

Once students have informed NHS of their participation in the IUSD Free or Reduced-Priced Meal Program and are approved, they are eligible for additional support:

NHS dance tickets can be purchased at a reduced price.  Please remember to clear all detentions to purchase a ticket from the Student Activities Center. Prom tickets are on sale now and the cost to attend is $100 until April 17.  The week of April 20, the ticket price will increase to $140. All detentions must be served by April 23 to purchase a ticket on April 24.

NHS Summer Athletics Skills Camp registration is now open. Camp fees are donation-based and families can contribute in a way that works best for them. For more information, please visit our NHS Athletics web page and click on the Summer Camp Flyer on the right side of the page.

OCTA Bus Passes are available to all students.  To obtain a bus pass, students and parents must complete a permission form in exchange for a pass.  Forms are available in the Main Office at the Reception Desk and are good through September 30, 2026. Also, the Irvine Connect now services Northwood High School and is a free alternative. You can find more information here.

Operation School Bell provides clothing and school supplies for income-qualified students in IUSD.  To obtain an online Operation School Bell application, please go to alirvine.org for the application and complete it online. Once submitted, the application will be reviewed and the organization will contact the family to request financial documentation. Enrollment will be verified before setting up a Meet & Greet appointment. *Closed for the 2025-26 school year*

Second Harvest Food Bank has a list of resources for families who may be experiencing a temporary gap in food assistance.  In addition, you can use the interactive Free Food Map at https://ocfoodhelp.org/ to find nearby food pantries and distribution sites.

Senior BBQ will take place on May 21 and tickets are on sale until May 21. The cost to attend is $15. Seniors can use this document in the SAC to receive the reduced pricing.

Senior Graduation Cap & Gown Rental is available. Please complete this form to reserve yours (your student's). Students will be expected to return their cap and gown when they pick up their diploma (the following day).  A tassel is NOT included and can be purchased for approximately $15 when students pick up their cap and gown in June.

Juniors/Seniors, many colleges and universities are test-free or test-optional, however, if you are interested in taking the SAT or ACT this year, you are eligible for a fee waiver. Here is information about SAT Fee Waiver Benefits and ACT Fee Waiver Information. Students can email Ms. Tambara for a waiver (KortneyTambara@iusd.org).

Southern California Edison is offering discounted rates to eligible families.  Two programs are available - California Alternate Rates for Energy (CARE) and Family Energy Rate Assistance (FERA). Please visit sce.com/care  and/or sce.com/fera for more information and to complete an application.

Yearbooks are available at a reduced price of $165.
