Detention Information

Detentions are earned when students have an unverified absence, or cut. For every cut, a detention is assigned.

Detentions can be served by attending detention before school (Monday - Friday) or after school (Thursday or Friday). Detentions are held in room 1405 on the following days and at various times to accommodate students’ schedules.  Students should arrive promptly and bring your school ID, writing utensil, and assignments to complete. Cell phones are not allowed during this time.  Arrive early - detention will be capped at 25 students.

The detention schedule is as follows:

Monday: 7:15 - 8:15 AM (before school)

Tuesday: 7:15 - 8:15 AM (before school)

Wednesday (Late Start): 8:15 - 9:15 AM (before school) 

Thursday: 7:15 - 8:15 AM (before school) and 2:30 - 3:30 PM 

Friday: 7:15 - 8:15 AM (before school) and 2:30 - 3:30 PM 

Please note: Our detention schedule may change to adjust to any changes with our bell schedule.  If the Late Start day is not on Wednesday, detention will begin at 8:15AM on the late start day.

Please be aware that the detention schedule for the week of fall finals (December 16-December 20) has changed. Students will be able to serve detention at the following times:

Tuesday, Dec 17th

Wednesday, Dec 18th

Thursday, Dec 19th

Friday, Dec 20th

7:15 - 8:15 AM

7:45 - 8:45 AM

and

1:30 - 3:30 PM

7:45 - 8:45 AM

11:30 - 3:30 PM

11:30 - 1:30 PM

 

Expectations for detentions:

  • Be on time!

  • Line up outside the room (do not cut the line or you will be asked to leave)

  • Show staff member your ID card

  • Sign in legible with your long ID#

  • Phone goes into phone pocket that corresponds with the sign in sheet

  • Do homework, read a book, or sit quietly during detention

If expectations are not met, student will be removed.

To avoid detention in the future, students should attend school daily and arrive on time for their classes.  In case of an absence, please remember that parents must call the Attendance Office or sign a note to submit to the Attendance Office within three days of the absence.
