    Welcome to the 2021 Virtual Distinguished Timberwolves Awards Ceremony! The Distinguished Timberwolves Award Ceremony was created to celebrate the remarkable accomplishments of our Northwood High School community with an emphasis on leadership and service to the school.

    The Pacific Coast League is excited to celebrate our Senior Student Athletes and our recipients of the Sportsmanship Awards. Below is a description of the awards that were given out and the recipients of those awards. Below is a description of the awards, or you can also watch a video celebrating each athlete here.

    The Scholar Athlete award goes to seniors who have maintained a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher over the course of their high school careers and have made significant contributions on the varsity level for their respective sports. The Class of 2021 NHS recipients were Matthew Keith, Kamryn Scott, Nathan Maloney, Emily Odom, Henry Jia, Lauren Arnold, Gabe Mirigian, and Erin Halle.

    The Sportsmanship Award goes to two senior student athletes (one female, one male) who serve as role models and outstanding citizens both in and out of the fields of play. The Class of 2021 NHS recipients were Rayan Garzan and Charlotte Sakamoto.

    The Athlete of the Year Award recognizes two senior scholar athletes who exemplify the vision and mission of the Pacific Coast League and the California Interscholastic Federation (CIF). The Class of 2021 NHS recipients were Nathan Maloney and Lauren Arnold.

    In early March, our very own Dr. Roach received the Marcus Foster Memorial Award for the southern California region!!  She was nominated by her staff for this honor that is awarded to administrators who demonstrate outstanding leadership and significant contributions to education. For more information, visit the IUSD website.
