Senior scrabble letters

Dear Senior,

We hope you are hanging in there with a short time left!

Cap and Gown Distribution/Returns: Cap and gown distribution, as well as other graduation necessities, will take place on Friday, May 29th in the afternoon. Please adhere to the specific times outlined below. If you cannot make your assigned time, please look for an email later next week with a make-up time during the week of June 1st to 5th.

Students must adhere to the following guidelines while on campus:

  • Please come at your specified time to allow for proper distancing.
  • All cars must be parked in the student parking lot.
  • Maintain social distancing guidelines (allow 6 feet and use marks on floor where indicated).
  • Follow signs for directions and any instructions provided by staff.
  • Wear a mask while on campus for the safety of our staff and students.
  • Parents and family members must wait in the car during this process - only students will be allowed on campus. If the student cannot attend, a parent may return items and pick up on their behalf but only one person at a time.
  • Students must leave campus immediately after drop off/pick-up.

We are asking that students come by TA to drop off all items that belong to NHS. This includes textbooks, instruments, chromebooks, and athletic equipment. At the time of drop-off, students will pick up their cap and gown, awards, and other graduation materials for the at-home graduation.

You should have received a separate email that details what items you have checked out that need to be returned. If you do not receive the email, please check your junk or spam folder. You may also access this information by following the steps outlined in this support article. Please note that this is not an all-inclusive list and you should return everything that is barcoded with the district or school barcode that may have been checked out by Northwood, including instruments, textbooks, Chromebooks, and uniforms. Some items not on the list may actually belong to your peers.

Step 1 (if applicable): Students drop off musical instruments and choral sheet music in Room 501. Please enter through the backdoor (gym side), place instruments to be scanned and exit through the front door (theater side).

Step 2 (if applicable): Students drop off athletic equipment and uniforms in the bins in front of the Theater. Please place uniforms in a bag and label it with your name and/or label equipment so it can be accounted for.

Step 3: Students return textbooks and Chromebooks with chargers (if applicable) in the Media Center. Please enter through the back door (by MC1 - 900 building side), have items scanned, and exit the front Media Center door.

Step 4: Students pick up cap and gown and graduation materials in front of the Office.

Diploma Pick-up: After graduation, we will distribute diplomas as well as yearbooks (they are arriving late due to factory closures). We expect that this distribution will occur in mid-June. Please be on the lookout (email) for more details!

Don’t forget to prepare for your virtual graduation for June 4th at 6pm. We hope you will plan to put on your cap and gown and celebrate with your family. Details will follow with the specifics on the length of the program and how to access your ceremony.
