NHS Athletics - Immediate Action Required.
With Orange County recently meeting the Adjusted Case Rate for COVID-19 return-to-competition guidelines set forth by the California Department of Public Health (CDPH), we are excited to announce that several of our sports teams will soon be able to compete! Our hope is facilitate a return to play for many of our teams in the coming weeks.
To ensure our athletes, coaches and support personnel are safe, specific guidelines and protocols will be in place. Please review all of the information in this Return to Play Letter and Waiver concerning the protocols that will be in place. In this document you will find details regarding athlete requirements, limitations, testing, and possible return to play protocols, among other essential guidelines. Teams requiring testing for participation will be notified directly.
Once you have reviewed the document, a parent and/or guardian and student-athlete signature will be required in order to allow your son/daughter to participate. Please print out the waiver at the end of the document and return a hard copy to the NHS attendance window. Admin office hours during the week are from 7:30 am - 4:00 pm. You may also drop the form off after school hours in the NHS mailbox (located next to the attendance window). *Please note that the NHS campus will be closed on Saturday, February 27 to accommodate our Cross Country meet. All waivers are due this Monday, March 1st and must be received by the school in order for your son/daughter participate in any upcoming full-scale practices and potential inter-team competitions.
Thank you for your continued support as we work to navigate the ever-changing landscape of high school athletics. We are excited about this latest step forward.
AP Testing Schedule
This year’s AP exam schedule is finally out AND has changed. To maximize instructional time, minimize disruption to instruction and statewide testing, and ensure the safety of our students and staff, all AP exams will be digital and administered at home. The only exception to this is Spanish Language and Music Theory which are required to be administered in person.
We know that this is a change to the original schedule, but due to the different school models across the country, College Board just released the revised testing window and digital format options. The schedule below was the best way for students to test safely and ensure uninterrupted in-person instructional time schoolwide. It also allows time for students and teachers to prepare and/or assess without the added stress of all their other classes at once (statewide testing and finals are also considered).
The following is our schedule:
Date | Morning Exam (9:00 AM) | Afternoon Exam (1:00 PM) |
Wednesday, May 12* | Music Theory (12PM) @NHS | |
