If you are planning to take an AP exam at NHS or at any other school site, please read this form in its entirety as it contains important information and registration instructions. The schedule below shows which exams are offered at NHS and when they will take place.
Taking AP Exams Outside of NHS:
If you are planning to take an AP exam anywhere besides NHS, you need to contact Mr. Kim-E BEFORE you register for ANY exams to work out any possible scheduling conflicts.
Self-Studying for AP Exams:
Per NHS Policy, if you pass an AP exam with a score of 3 or higher, you will not be permitted to enroll in the class in future school years.
Taking 2 Exams Scheduled on the Same Day at the Same Time:
- Students who wish to take two NHS exams that are being offered at the same time, will need to pay for both and we will inform you which test will be offered during the alternative testing window. If you are taking an exam outside of NHS that is offered on the same day or at the same time as an exam that you are taking at NHS, contact Mr. Kim-E BEFORE you register for ANY exams to discuss the scheduling conflict.
- If you are taking two exams on the same day, but they are at different times, you are expected to take them both on the same day per the College Board.
- If you are taking two exams on the same day - MAKE SURE THEY ARE AT THE SAME LOCATION! You will not be able to travel from NHS in the morning and then to a different school site for an afternoon exam or vice-versa. Make sure both exams are taken at the same location!
Taking Late Exams and Spring Athletics Conflicts:
- The College Board has a list of circumstances under which a student can yake an AP exam during late testing week (the week after regular exams), some of which incur a fee. If you are unable to take an exam on the regular test date/time, contact Mr. Kim-E to discuss whether or not late testing is an option for you.
- For spring athletes, since it is too early to know whether or not you'll have a conflict due to an athletic competition, you should purchase your exam(s) now. Contact Mr. Kim-E ASAP if you find out that there will be a conflict. Students who have a sports conflict will be allowed to take a late test at no additional cost, but there must be a true conflict. For example, if your AP exam is in the morning and the athletic event is in the late afternoon, there is no conflict and you must take the AP exam at the regularly scheduled time.
